Flood assistance extended to 24 areas surrounding Kempsey and Port Macquarie

The government support provides $180 to eligible individuals.

An additional 24 towns and villages on the Mid North Coast impacted by the May flood event are now eligible for state government assistance.

So far, more than 45,000 people have already applied for East Coast Severe Weather Personal Hardship Assistance through Service NSW, which provides $180 to eligible individuals and an additional $180 per dependent.

The payment is to help pay for food, medication, clothing, temporary accommodation and other essential needs.

Following further assessments by the NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) of data provided by local councils, the government extended the payment to include 20 new areas of Kempsey Local Government Area (LGA) and four in Port Macquarie LGA.
