Alternatives Bookshop is an institution in Bellingen. Alex Caminer and his partner, Chi, moved to town only a few years ago before taking over ownership of the shop.
Caminer shared the ethos of the store with the Mid North Coaster.
“I got to a point in my own reading where I could no longer walk into a bookshop and find the things I was after… They weren’t the most obscure things but just not things from the bestseller thing. That’s what we’re trying to provide here.”
Alternatives Bookshop can be found at 105 Hyde Street, Bellingen.
