Events for the kids across the Mid North Coast in July

Free and ticketed events for the whole family.

From free film screenings, to live performances and art sessions, there are plenty of things happening during the winter school holidays and beyond to keep the kids entertained.

Plus, a number of NAIDOC Week activities are being hosted across the region between 6 and 13 July.

Here’s a list of events on the Mid North Coast, including free and budget-friendly options for the family.

🎭 The Listies, Coffs Harbour

The Listies are bringing their new show 110% Ready to Coffs.

In their usually slapstick humour and improvised silliness, Melbourne’s Matt and Rich try their best to leave the house in time, but that’s hard to do when someone sleeps through the alarm, has to fish dirty clothes out of the basket, flushes keys down the toilet and finds the front-door glued shut.

✨ Art Walk, Port Macquarie

During the annual Art Walk, Port Macquarie’s streets, galleries and shopfronts are full of art of all forms from painting and sculpture, to live performances and interactive installations.

The 2025 Art Walk theme is “Out of this World”. Enjoy light shows, food stalls, connecting with local artists and more.

🎭 Mr Snotbottom, Coffs Harbour

Described as “The Prince of putrid”, Mr Snotbottom makes kids laugh with all the disgusting things young ones find funny with silly songs, yucky jokes and gross gags.

🎶 Madagascar the Musical, Port Macquarie

The animated animals of Madagascar are brought to life on stage in this high energy musical perfect for the family.

🎨 Art Sessions, Port Macquarie

During the July school holidays, Glasshouse is hosting the Sprouts art sessions where local artists teach children aged 4 to 9 creative skills and help them to engage and explore their artistic side.

👗 Bello Runway, Bellingen

This youth fashion show is back for its second year to celebrate young local talent. The 2025 runway will showcase 30 collections by design students aged eight to 17 from The Balcony Arts Studio in Bellingen.

📽️ NAIDOC Movie Night, Port Macquarie

The community is invited to a free screening of Emu Runner as part of this year’s NAIDOC week, with a pre-screening Welcome to Country.

The film is about a young girl who forms a bond with a wild emu, helping her to heal from her mother’s death.

🎬 Film Screening, Coffs Harbour

The Jetty Theatre is showing Flow – an animation about a new world celebrating nature’s resilience and where wildlife thrives.

After the world is devastated by a great flood, the Cat character finds refuge on a boat with other species who all work together to navigate challenges and adapt to a world without humans.
