The Kempsey Macleay RSL, in Kempsey’s CBD, has a fridge of aged-meats that’ll make your mouth water. One option is the 30-day dry aged viking cutlet. The 500+ grams of meat will set a member back $59 or $63 for a visitor.

The mammoth steak comes with chips and salad or mash and veggies. Also on offer is a rump steak, eye fillet or scotch fillet.

🐷 Hog’s Breath Cafe, Port Macquarie

Serving steak, ribs and seafood, The Grill on Clarence Street uses local growers and suppliers.

It offers seven premium steak options, including tenderloin and Wagyu. You can choose a half rack ($36.95) or full rack ($59.95) of beef, pork or lamb ribs – and if you can’t decide, the venue offers a rib duo or trio option. The meat is basted in The Grill’s special sauce and char-grilled over an open flame.
