Word on the street: Port Macquarie man says he wants the state of homelessness and roads fixed
The Mid North Coaster is speaking with people across the region, asking them about the issues that will sway their vote ahead of this federal election.

We’ve been taking to the streets to ask Mid North Coast residents about the issues that will be deciding their vote for the upcoming election on May 3.
Cost of living, housing affordability, and renewable energy are just some of the topics we’ve heard so far.
On the pavements of Port Macquarie a few weeks ago, a voter told the Mid North Coaster he’d like to see the state of the roads and the homelessness issue in the area fixed.
“There’s a lot of homeless people…it’s such a small town [and] there’s still quite a few,” he said. “I think that could be resolved a little bit better.”
The roads also need improving according to the voter.
“Some of our roundabouts really need to be turned into traffic lights,” he said.
